We are a small group of railway modellers from the Belper Area.
We meet most Wednesdays from 7pm to 10pm at Strutts Community Centre in Belper.
Strutts Community Centre is the former Strutts Grammer School situated on the Derby Road in Belper. It has free on-site parking and disabled access to all floors, with the recent instalation of a lift.
We meet in room 103 on the first floor.
We organise an annual one-day show, held at Strutts. This occurs on a Saturday in March.
We currently have layouts in 'OO', 'O' and 'OO9' gauges. The 'OO9' layout was donated to the club and is in need of some restoration.
Unfortunatley we have no 'N' gauge layout at present to cater for the commoner gauges.
However we do have an excellent test track that caters for 'N', 'TT/HoM', 'OO', 'EM' and 'P4'.
The new 'O' gauge layout will also be able to double as a test track.
Club member's interests are varied, but unsuprisingly the commest interest is 'OO' gauge 'Big Four ' or 'British Railways' steam.
We have all skill levels represented at the club from beginner to advanced and we usually have an 'expert' on hand to lend help and advice.
Both Club and members' layouts have been exhibited at our own show and those of other clubs. When exhibitng we strive for high standards in both presentation and operation, although on occasions striving is all we have been able to achieve!
We have several junior members. A previous junior member, Matt Higham, has since gone on to become an apprentice with a local boiler makers.
Visitors are welcome to attend for free on club nights
Membership fees are modest being £20 per year (£5 for juniors),
with a weekly fee of £3 and £2.50 respectively.
We hope to see you soon.
